This idea came about after a pastor claimed that people’s first paychecks belong to him, sparking controversy.
In a recent Instagram video, Kanayo expressed his support for this tradition by blessing his son who just earned his first salary. He explained that it’s a father’s role, not a pastor’s, to give this blessing.

Kanayo shared the significance of this practice, stating that it’s rooted in Igbo culture. According to him, giving the first paycheck to one’s father helps in learning financial management and receiving a father’s guidance for success.
He urged people not to seek blessings from pastors for their first salaries, emphasizing that only a father can give this special blessing.
