An Abuja court on Tuesday adjourned the trial of rapper Tochukwu Ojogwu, popularly known as Odumodublvck, in an alleged assault and battery case until October 13 and 14 for hearing.
At the resumed sitting, counsel to the claimant, Uchenna Ojembe, announced appearance and informed the court that the matter was ready for hearing. He told Justice Adeyemi Ajayi that the claimant, Ogbogiri Okey Levi, also known as “Kraziecent” and the sole witness, was present in court and prepared to proceed.
However, defence counsel, Damilare Adeojo, informed the court that he had filed a motion on notice dated November 25, 2025, which had been duly served on the claimant’s counsel. He sought an adjournment to enable him adequately prepare for his defence, adding that he had previously appealed for accommodation from the claimant’s legal team.
Opposing the application, Ojembe argued that the defendant had benefited from several adjournments and urged the court to, if inclined to grant another, award a cost of N500,000 against the defence counsel.
Adeojo, however, objected to the proposed cost, insisting that any adjournment should be granted without penalty.
After listening to both sides, Justice Ajayi urged counsel for the claimant to extend professional courtesy to his learned colleague at the bar before adjourning the case.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Kraziecent instituted the suit against Odumodublvck over an alleged assault and destruction of his iPhone 15 Pro Max at a public event in December 2024.
He alleged that the rapper assaulted him without provocation while he was recording, resulting in emotional distress.
The claimant is seeking an order compelling the defendant to cover medical expenses, issue a public apology on his social media pages and in two national newspapers, or pay N2 billion in damages.
