Tinubu Is Ready for 2027 Presidential Race – Wike to Opposition

—

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has declared that winning Nigeria’s presidency is not as simple as making loud political statements, insisting that the opposition cannot expect to take power in 2027 without adequate preparation.

Wike made the remarks on Tuesday during the inauguration of the Bwari Water Supply Network, one of the projects commissioned to mark President Bola Tinubu’s third anniversary in office.

According to the minister, President Tinubu and his supporters are fully prepared for the 2027 presidential election and the strategies of opposition parties.

“I have told those who say they want to be in power that it is not by ‘chochocho.’ Becoming president is not about making noise. You don’t just wake up one morning and declare you want to be president. It doesn’t happen that way.

“We are prepared. The President is prepared, and everyone who has what it takes is also prepared,” Wike said.

The FCT minister disclosed that the inauguration of the Bwari Water Supply Network marked the 50th official project commissioned since Tinubu assumed office on May 29, 2023.

He said the event was the 25th project commissioning held as part of activities commemorating the President’s third year in office.

Wike explained that Tinubu had, during the inauguration of the Greater Abuja Water Project last year, directed the FCT Administration to extend potable water to satellite towns.

He noted that the directive had already been implemented with the commissioning of the Karu Water Supply Network last week, followed by the Bwari Water Supply Network on Tuesday.

“Since President Tinubu assumed office in 2023, we have expanded water supply to the city centre and satellite communities such as Karu, Bwari and neighbouring areas.

“This demonstrates that our administration is not only focused on road construction but is equally investing in other critical sectors,” he said.

Wike added that road infrastructure had also witnessed significant improvement under the current administration, revealing that virtually all roads in Ushafa and Bwari Area Council had been completed.

He announced that the 17-kilometre Bwari-Kubwa Road would be inaugurated before the end of the year.

The minister further revealed that 50 major projects had been officially commissioned since Tinubu assumed office, adding that another 10 projects would be completed and inaugurated before political campaigns begin next year.
