Chinese Firm Unveils Hyper-Realistic AI Humanoid Robots That Can Read Human Emotions

—

A Chinese technology company has unveiled a new generation of hyper-realistic humanoid robots designed to serve as “emotional companions,” combining household assistance with advanced artificial intelligence that recognizes and responds to human emotions.

According to reports by Global Times, a TV BRICS partner, the robots are built to help with domestic chores, provide companionship, and support daily social interaction.

The AI-powered robots are available in male and female versions. The male model stands 183 centimeters tall and weighs about 42 kilograms, while the female version measures 168 centimeters in height and weighs 35.2 kilograms.

Developers say the humanoids can replicate more than 90 percent of basic human movements, making them among the most lifelike consumer robots introduced to date.

The machines are also equipped with what the company describes as the world’s first large-scale “emotional” AI model, capable of recognizing more than 20 different emotional states with over 90 percent accuracy. The technology is designed to support long-term interaction and build more natural relationships with users.

The company has introduced several models across different price categories, although current pricing is primarily targeted at technology enthusiasts and corporate clients.

It said costs are expected to fall significantly once large-scale manufacturing begins.

The robots have already generated strong market interest, with more than 10,000 pre-orders received ahead of full production. The company plans to manufacture up to 50,000 units in 2026.

The launch has also triggered widespread debate on social media.

Supporters believe the AI companions could help tackle loneliness, assist elderly people, remind users to take medication and provide support during emergencies.

Critics, however, warn that growing emotional dependence on AI companions could weaken real-life human relationships and reduce people’s willingness to maintain meaningful social connections.
