Gunmen killed a teacher and abducted an unspecified number of students from Government Day Secondary School in Lassa, Askira/Uba Local Government Area of Borno State.
The attack occurred on Monday morning while students were sitting for the Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) conducted by the National Examinations Council (NECO).
During the assault, one teacher was reportedly shot dead, while another sustained injuries.
The spokesperson for the Borno State Police Command, Nahum Daso, confirmed the incident, stating that security operatives were still working to determine the number of students taken by the attackers.
He added that some of the students remain unaccounted for as search and rescue efforts continue.
