The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has increased the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, for the second time in four days.
The State owned oil company raised the price to N967 per litre, up from N960, representing a N7 increase per litre.
The new price was observed at several NNPCL filling stations across Abuja and surrounding areas on Saturday.
This latest adjustment follows an earlier increase earlier in the week when the company raised the pump price from N875 to N960 per litre.
Other filling stations across the nation’s capital have also adjusted their prices, with petrol now selling between N967 and N1,000 per litre, depending on the outlet.
Meanwhile, global crude oil prices surged by about 9 percent, with Brent crude and West Texas Intermediate rising to above $90 per barrel on Saturday amid supply concerns.
The development comes shortly after the Dangote Refinery earlier increased its gantry price for petrol, citing rising crude oil prices driven by ongoing tensions in the Middle East.
The recent adjustments have raised concerns among motorists and residents as fuel prices continue to fluctuate across the country
