Vieira Raises Fresh Doubts Over Arsenal’s Title Nerve After United Loss

After a shocking home loss to Manchester United, Arsenal’s grip on the Premier League title race has come under renewed scrutiny; club icon Patrick Vieira questions the team’s mental edge at a critical point in the year.

Leading the table and doing well in domestic cup competitions as well as in Europe, the loss at the Emirates brought back recurring questions about whether Mikel Arteta’s team could at last shed its image as an underperformer at the critical moment.

It was Arsenal’s first home loss of the season and their most defensively fragile performance in almost three years.

Vieira noted a lack of risk-taking and intensity, pointing out that quality alone would not guarantee the long-awaited league title. Having finished second in each of the past three campaigns, Arsenal are still looking for their first major trophy since Arteta’s inaugural year.

Particularly with opponents losing points and Arsenal still firmly holding the lead in the championship race, The News Chronicle understands that the defeat has sparked fresh internal focus on mindset and decision-making.

Still present in attack, concerns remain as no Arsenal player has more than five league goals this season, and key attackers battle for form. Still, Arsenal remains ideally positioned with a four-point cushion and opponents with challenging schedules.

How they react over the next several weeks may determine whether this season becomes another near miss or historical significance.
