Christian Genocide Claim: You Made a Drug Baron President, Why Angry Trump Called Us Disgraceful? — Atiku’s Son Defends Trump, Fires Back at Critics

Shehu Abubakar, son of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has taken a swipe at President Bola Tinubu amid mounting global outrage over alleged persecution of Christians in Nigeria and warnings from U.S. President Donald Trump about possible military action.

In a post on X on Monday, Shehu questioned the backlash against Trump’s remarks, arguing that Nigerians must confront their own leadership choices first.

“Why are some upset that Donald Trump called us disgraceful?” he wrote.

“When they announced an alleged drug baron as our President, what do you call that — prideful?

I know it hurts our pride as a nation, but we have to first look inwards and hold ourselves accountable before we accuse outsiders.”

His comments come as Washington increases pressure on Abuja over reported attacks on Christians by extremist groups, with Trump warning of consequences if Nigeria fails to act.
