Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, attended the finals of the annual Minna Polo Tournament, held at the Minna Polo Ground on Saturday.
Several final matches took place, including the Late Dawule Baba Memorial Cup, the Gen. Hassan Usman Katsina Memorial Cup, the Governor’s Cup, and the Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida Cup.
In the final of the Late Dawule Baba Memorial Cup, Team A featuring Marwan Mohammed Umaru Bago, son of the governor defeated Team B with a score of 4 goals to 3.
In the Gen. Hassan Usman Katsina Memorial Cup, Profile Polo Team secured a dominant victory over Minna City Cars, winning 11 goals to 3.
Profile also claimed the Governor’s Cup, narrowly defeating Barns and City with a score of 2.5 goals to 2.
El-Amin 1 won the Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida Cup by beating El-Amin 2 with a final score of 1.5 goals to 1.
Trophies were awarded to all the winning teams, and participants in the final matches also received recognition. Victorious teams celebrated enthusiastically, cheered on by the crowd.
The tournament was attended by many dignitaries, including the Emir of Minna, Alhaji Umar Faruq Bahago, along with polo fans and enthusiasts. The event was widely praised as a celebration of talent, determination, and sportsmanship.
