In a strategic move to bridge the AI knowledge gap, Google has committed €25 million ($26.98 million) towards aiding AI education in Europe.
The tech giant has invited applications from social enterprises and nonprofits to facilitate training for those most likely to benefit from AI education.
To further support AI adoption, Google will launch “growth academies” designed to assist companies in scaling their operations through AI integration.
The company has also expanded its free online AI training courses, now available in 18 languages.
Adrian Brown, executive director of the Centre for Public Impact, emphasized the initiative’s importance in addressing potential inequalities arising from AI advancements.
He stated, “This new program will help people across Europe develop their knowledge, skills, and confidence around AI, ensuring that no one is left behind.”
This follows Google’s recent announcement of a $1 billion investment in a new data center just outside London, reflecting the company’s commitment to meeting the increasing demand for internet services in the region.
The 33-acre site in Waltham Cross is slated to contribute to Google’s infrastructure expansion.
