2027: Wike Signals Massive Coalition for Tinubu, Says Election Is ‘Walkover’

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has hinted at plans to build what he described as the “largest rainbow coalition” in support of President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.

Wike disclosed this while speaking with journalists in Abuja on Friday, after Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke visited his residence on Thursday.

The FCT minister said Adeleke had aligned with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), suggesting that the development would further weaken the opposition ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

Wike also described the 2027 election as a walkover for Tinubu, insisting that opposition parties would face significant difficulty in mounting a strong challenge against the President.

In the next few weeks, watch what is going to happen. You will see the largest rainbow coalition supporting President Tinubu,” Wike said.

His comments came days after Adeleke, who was re-elected as Osun State governor following a keenly contested election, declared his support for Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

Adeleke and his nephew, Afrobeats singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, visited Wike in Abuja on Thursday after the governor received his Certificate of Return.
