The presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, and the party’s vice-presidential candidate, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, have met with the party’s governorship candidates from Bauchi, Sokoto and Borno states as part of efforts to strengthen preparations for the forthcoming elections.
The meeting was held at Kwankwaso’s residence in Maitama, Abuja, according to a statement posted on the NDC’s X handle on Tuesday.
Those present at the meeting included the party’s governorship candidates in Bauchi, Ibrahim Muhammad Kashim; Sokoto, Shamsu Aliyu; and Borno, Admiral Sunusi Sir Kashim Ibrahim (rtd.).
Also in attendance were former federal lawmaker and NDC leader, Buba Galadima; the party’s state chairmen in Kebbi and Sokoto, Mustapha Umar and Bello Sani Yabo, respectively; as well as other party leaders.
The NDC said the meeting focused on strengthening the party’s preparations for the elections and developing strategies aimed at securing victory for its candidates.

“The meeting availed the leaders the opportunity to discuss strategies, assess readiness for the upcoming elections, placing strong emphasis on coordinated campaigns designed to deliver victory for its candidates at every level,” the statement said.
The party said the meeting further underscored the importance of coordination between its leadership and candidates as it intensifies preparations for the forthcoming electoral contests.
