2023 AFCON: 23 players report to camp, with Osimhen and Iheanacho expected to join

Ahead of the 2023 African Cup of Nations, 23 players have arrived at the camp of the Super Eagles, with only Napoli forward Victor Osimhen and doubtful Kelechi Iheanacho expected to make up the 25 players called up for the tournament.

According to the Super Eagles: Stanley Nwabili, Francis Uzoho, Olorunleke Ojo, Olaoluwa Aina, Chidozie Awaziem, Bright Osayi-Samuel, William Troost-Ekong, Bruno Onyemaechi, Kenneth Omeruo, Oluwasemilogo Ajayi, Calvin Bassey, Zaidu Sanusi, Alhasan Yusuf, Raphael Onyedika, Joe Ayodele-Aribo, Frank Onyeka, Alex Iwobi, Ahmed Musa, Kelechi Iheanacho (Leicester City, Sadiq Umar, Moses Simon, Ademola Lookman, Samuel Chukwueze, Victor Boniface; are all in camp.

The players are currently camping in Abu Dhabi, the capital city of the United Arab Emirates, for a one-week training that will last until Tuesday, 9th January. The team will fly back to Lagos on Tuesday 9th January, and then fly into the Ivorian capital, Abidjan on Wednesday, 10th January.

Nigerians will begin their voyage for the fourth title when they go against Equatorial Guinea on Sunday at 4 pm Nigerian time.
