The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has officially concluded the service year for the 2025 Batch A, Stream 1 corps members deployed to Anambra State, with the issuance of Certificates of National Service (CNS) to deserving participants across the state.
The State NYSC Coordinator, Mrs. Pauline Ojisua, monitored the distribution exercise at the Awka South Local Government Area Secretariat.
During the ceremony, the corps members turned out in large numbers to receive their certificates, marking the successful completion of their mandatory one-year national service.
A total of 1,149 corps members were discharged in the batch, comprising 457 males and 692 females.
The ceremony signified the end of their contributions to national development through community service, education, healthcare, and other critical sectors during their deployment year.
In a goodwill message, Mrs. Ojisua commended the corps members for their dedication, discipline, and resilience throughout their service year.
She urged them to carry forward the values of patriotism, unity, and selfless service instilled by the scheme as they transition into the next phase of their lives.
On his part, a business mogul and aspirant to the Awka South Constituency Two seat in the Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon Chigbogu Nweke, described the scheme as very instrumental in ensuring national integration and unity among Nigerians.
He encouraged the discharged corps members to face their future with determination to succeed, reminding them that many people depend on them for motivation and support.
“Having completed your NYSC, I want you to be know that your lives have begun and what you make of it is your sole responsibility.
“You must therefore not lose focus. Position yourselves, with the knowledge and skills you have acquired during your service year, to strive for self-reliance and independence,” Nweke advised.
The issuance of the CNS is a significant milestone for corps members, as it certifies the completion of the NYSC programme and qualifies them for full participation in the nation’s workforce and other civic engagements.
The event across various local government areas in Anambra State was conducted peacefully, with strict adherence to NYSC guidelines, bringing to a close yet another successful service year.
