10-Year-Old Boy Kills Himself After Being Bullied by Classmates for His Teeth & Glasses

A ten-year-old Sammy Teusch in Greenfield, Indiana, took his own life after enduring relentless bullying at school.

According to his family, Sammy had been subjected to both physical and emotional abuse, which persisted until the very night of his death on May 5.

The torment began when Sammy was in elementary school and persisted when he transitioned to Greenfield Intermediate School.

According to his parents, they had made approximately 20 complaints to the school officials but the abuse continually persisted.

Sammy’s father, Sam Teusch, recounted the horrific ordeal, describing how his classmates initially targeted Sammy’s glasses and later escalated to mocking his teeth.

“They were making fun of him for his glasses in the beginning, then on to make fun of his teeth. It went on for a long time,” his dad said.

“He was beat up on the school bus, and the kids broke his glasses and everything,” he said.

“I called the school, and I’m like, ‘What are you doing about this? It keeps getting worse, and worse, and worse,’” the dad claimed.

Despite their pleas for intervention, the family felt their concerns were not adequately addressed by the school administration.

However, Dr. Harold Olin, the school district’s superintendent, refuted claims of any formal reports of bullying submitted by the family. He only acknowledged the school’s admin and counselor regularly spoke with the family throughout the year, without elaborating because of confidentiality rules.

Nichole Teusch, Sammy’s mother, also revealed that her son’s fear of returning to school was worsened by a recent undisclosed incident in a school bathroom, which likely contributed to his tragic decision to end his life.
