Xavi Hernandez says he will  quit Barcelona at the end of the season

Barcelona head coach, Xavi Hernandez, has made a massive decision to step down as Barcelona head coach at the end of the current season.

During his post match interviews in which they were humbled by Villarreal, Xavi said his family has suffered due to his absence, and it’s time he returns to his role as a father and also be readily available for them.

Furthermore, the Barcelona legend made emphasis on how everyone of Barcelona coaches gets criticized, which recently has affected their well-being.

“I would like to announce that I will NOT continue as the Barça coach after June.”

“As a culer, the best thing is to leave the club after June. I think that will help the dynamic change and I still think that we can have a very good season. I have to think about the club before myself.”

“I don’t want to be a problem for the club, and the best thing is to LEAVE after June. I was the solution two years ago, but now leaving is the best option.”

“Today’s defeat was very cruel. I don’t remember one so cruel in my entire career.”

“I want to thank Laporta for his confidence in me. He’s the FU*KING BEST.”

“The team dynamic is very NEGATIVE. I can’t find reasons for today’s loss, and that’s what I told Laporta. He was very emotional.”

“We will keep fighting for La Liga. We will keep competing.”

“You asked me many times that if I’d be the Sir Alex Ferguson of Barcelona. The truth is that it will NEVER happen here. You guys won’t allow it. There will never be a ‘SAF’ at Barça.”

“Being a Barça coach is so difficult. You see how they criticize you, it affects you. At one point, you begin to wonder: Is it worth it? And that’s it. My loved ones know it. I took the decision to leave some time ago.”

Xavi, when asked if he would consider retracting his statement should the club win the UCL,

“NO, that will not happen. I will take a break after this season. My family and I have suffered too much in these couple of years. I want to be with them.”

“I tried.”

Xavi joined Barcelona in 2021 as a replacement for Ronald Koeman guiding the club to the league title in his first season as head coach.

Barcelona under his guidance has struggled to meet with arch rival Real Madrid and Girona, who now lead at the top of the summit with 10 and 8 points respectively.
