Xabi Alonso Raises Chelsea Exit Fears as Fernandez and Neto Face Uncertain Futures

Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso has refused to rule out departures for Enzo Fernandez and Pedro Neto before the transfer window closes, adding fresh uncertainty around the club after their dramatic 4-3 Premier League win over Brighton.

Fernandez was left out of the Chelsea squad for the second straight match as Manchester City reportedly prepare a British record offer of up to £130 million for the Argentine midfielder.

Alonso said Chelsea are considering different possibilities ahead of Tuesday’s deadline and want to make decisions that protect the team’s interests.

The News Chronicle reports that Chelsea are also working on a possible replacement, with Monaco midfielder Lamine Camara reportedly close to joining the London club.

Neto’s future is also unclear despite producing an impressive display against Brighton. The Portuguese winger scored and caused problems throughout the match after being used in an unfamiliar wing-back position.

Asked if Neto was certain to remain at Chelsea, Alonso said he could not guarantee the player’s future but praised his performance and importance to the team.

Chelsea are now facing a tense final stretch of the transfer window, with potential major exits and new arrivals likely to shape Alonso’s squad before the deadline.

The Blues have started the Premier League season with a perfect winning record, but their squad could look very different when the window shuts.
