Women in Jos South Destroy Alcohol, Drugs Over Husbands’ Substance Abuse

A group of women popularly known as “Farin Lamba” in Jos South Local Government Area have taken drastic action against substance abuse among their husbands, destroying bottles of alcohol and setting fire to illicit drugs in their community.

The women said their actions were driven by growing frustration over the impact of excessive drinking and drug use on their families, noting that many of their husbands have become irresponsible and neglect their duties at home.

According to them, substance abuse has led to frequent conflicts, economic hardship, and emotional distress within households, forcing them to take a stand to restore order and stability.

They urged their husbands to emulate responsible men who focus on productive ventures and providing for their families, rather than engaging in what they described as destructive habits and idleness.

The women also called on community leaders and authorities to support efforts aimed at curbing drug abuse and promoting responsible behavior among men in the area.
