Why Bolt Suspended 5000 Drivers

Ride-Hailing Giant Bolt has taken action against over 5,000 drivers in the last six months due to safety concerns and rule violations. The Country Manager of Bolt, Yahaya Mohammed, shared in a meeting held in Lagos that the company is ramping up safety efforts to prioritize the well-being of both passengers and drivers.
To bolster safety, Bolt has invested more than N20 million to upgrade safety features, implement better reporting tools, and educate drivers and passengers about safety. Mohammed emphasized that strict rules are in place, and non-compliance could lead to permanent removal from the platform. Ensuring safety for everyone using Bolt is their utmost priority.
He also highlighted that Bolt is committed to maintaining high safety standards in the transportation sector, blocking any reported individuals who don’t adhere to the rules. Bolt’s initiatives include increased safety measures, educational programs for drivers and passengers, stricter rules, and improved reporting systems to enhance the overall safety of its service.
