What Led to the Odumodublvck and M.I Abaga Rift?

Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck has publicly accused veteran hip-hop artist M.I Abaga and figures linked to Chocolate City of attempting to damage his career.

The statements were made on 1 November 2025 through a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter).

In the messages, Odumodublvck alleged that certain artists and executives coordinated plans designed to discredit him within the music industry. He stated:

“You set a whole strategy up to antagonise an innocent person. Unfortunately for you, your ego blurred your vision.”

He addressed some of the comments to rapper A-Q (Gilbert Bani), describing his reputation as rooted in “criminal-induced clout”, and warned that:

“Your evil time is up and you will pay so dearly.”

Odumodublvck also directed criticism at M.I Abaga, accusing him of publicly presenting himself as a positive influence while supporting harmful internal politics. He wrote:

“You are very good at portraying the ‘good guy.’ One thing they did not tell you is that I don’t care about public opinion, unlike you.”

He further claimed that attempts had been made to halt his rise in the industry and that religious leaders had informed him about what he called spiritual efforts against him. He said:

“They tried to kill my career and are still trying to. So many men of God were calling me. You guys think it’s a joke.”

Before this dispute, Odumodublvck had previously expressed respect for M.I Abaga as a senior figure in Nigerian hip-hop.

He had supported M.I publicly during an earlier disagreement between M.I and A-Q, referring to him at that time as an “OG” (mentor or respected elder). In recent comments, he stated that he no longer holds that view.

As of the time of this report, M.I Abaga, A-Q, and representatives of Chocolate City have not issued any formal response to the allegations.
