We Remain Committed to Safeguarding Lives and Property in Kogi –Tsukwam

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has restated its unwavering commitment to protecting lives and property on Kogi State’s highways.
The assurance was given on Wednesday in Lokoja by the Kogi Sector Commander, Mr. Kumar Tsukwam, during a courtesy visit from Mr. Suberu John, Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to Governor Ahmed Ododo on road safety matters.
According to Tsukwam, the core mission of the Corps remains safeguarding lives along the nation’s roads, and the agency will not compromise the welfare of citizens and all road users under any circumstances.
Describing the visit as timely and impactful, Tsukwam emphasized the value of collaboration between the Corps and the state government in promoting road safety.
”We do appreciate this visit to the command, as it will go a long way in encouraging and strengthening us in performing our duty.
”Since my assumption as sector commander in Kogi, my focus has been on ensuring a safe motoring environment in collaboration with the state government.
”We are seeing the results considering the drastic reduction in road crashes on our roads in Kogi,” he said.
In his remarks, Mr. John lauded the FRSC for its consistent humanitarian services, particularly its swift response during emergencies and efforts to prevent avoidable road tragedies.
He assured the command of his willingness to partner closely in raising public awareness on road safety practices, in alignment with the United Nations Decade of Action 2030, which targets a 50 percent reduction in road traffic crashes and injuries.
John also promised to support the command in areas such as personnel training and public enlightenment to further enhance its operational capacity.
