Vendetta Rife in Anambra Civil Service as Govt Intensifies War Against Certificate Forgery

Following a certificate forgery scandal that rocked the Anambra State public service, resulting in the dismissal of scores of workers, some sacked workers are already fighting their colleagues in the service.

TNC investigations revealed that the sacked workers have formed an association to fight back, threatening to expose their colleagues still in service with fake credentials.

The certificate screening exercise, initiated by the Governor Chukwuma Soludo Administration to sanitize the system, has led to the dismissal of numerous workers, including directors and those with Forged PhD certificates.

However, the association claims that the exercise was unfair and has vowed to take action.

According to a source within the association, who spoke on condition of anonymity, “We will not go down alone. If our pleas for pardon are ignored, we will reveal the names of our colleagues who forged certificates, the institutions involved, and are still serving in top positions.”

The association’s move has sparked concerns about the extent of certificate forgery in the state’s workforce and the potential consequences of their exposé.

Meanwhile, a civil servant (name withheld) noted that there is nothing to worry about for anyone in the service with legitimate results.

According to the source, “It is alarming how some people will come into the State Civil Service with forged results, and grow even up to the position of directors!

“I want to commend the state government for mustering the courage to embark on this certificate verification, as it will help to sanitize the system and ensure that only those with genuine results are found in the civil service.

”Also, it will ensure that productivity is guaranteed because someone with fake result does not know what is expected of him or her. If we have only qualified people manning positions of office in the service, I believe the productivity that the state government has been demanding from the state workforce, will be achieved.”

The Anambra State government has yet to comment on the association’s claims and threats.

As the situation unfolds, it remains to be seen how the government will respond to the sacked workers’ demands and the potential fallout from their threatened exposé.
