Ugandan Opposition Leader Kizza Besigye Collapses in Court After Bail Denial

Ugandan opposition politician Dr. Kizza Besigye, 69, collapsed during a court session after repeatedly shouting “Stop” as proceedings in his treason case unfolded.

Witnesses said the veteran opposition figure suddenly slumped in the courtroom, prompting officials to intervene before he was attended to.

The court subsequently ordered that Besigye remain in detention after denying him bail as he continues to face charges related to alleged treason.

The case has drawn significant public attention, with supporters and rights groups closely monitoring the legal proceedings involving one of Uganda’s most prominent opposition figures.

Authorities are yet to provide further details on Besigye’s medical condition following the courtroom incident.
