Truck collides with 2 vehicles, kills 4, injures 4 in Anambra

A multiple fatal crash on Monday, at Obosi slaughter near Obosi police division along Onitsha -Owerri road, involving 3 vehicles, has claimed four lives and injured four persons.

The accident which took place at about 11:30 am today, involved a red 911 Mercedes Benz with registration number JJT 168 XG, a Toyota Camry car with registration number FST 122 DQ and a white Toyota Hiace bus belonging to Izuchukwu Motors with registration number ABN 430 YN.

It was gathered from an eye witness that the accident happened when the 911 had break failure and lost control, causing it to crash into the other vehicles.

The Acting Public Education Officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps in Anambra, Kamal Musa said a total of thirteen people including 8 male adults and five female adults were involved in the crash.

“Two male adults and two female adults who sustained varying degrees of injury were rushed to Unit Hospital Obosi, by FRSC rescue team from Oraifite Unit Command and corpses deposited at the morgue after they were confirmed dead by the doctors in the hospital.

“The Anambra FRSC Sector Commander, Andrew Kumapayi while praying for God to grant the deceased families the fortitude to bear the irrevocable loss and the injured victims quick recovery, admonishes motorists to embark on regular maintenance of vehicles and ensure their vehicles meet the minimum safety standards before putting it on the road to avoid undue crashes on our roads,” he said.
