Troops Rescue More Chibok Girls and Children from Terrorists, Neutralize Three in Ambush

In recent developments from the ongoing efforts to combat terrorism and insurgency in Nigeria’s North East region, the Nigerian Army has achieved a significant breakthrough by rescuing Lydia Simon, one of the Chibok girls who had been held captive by Boko Haram militants for several years.
Lydia, who was among the 276 schoolgirls abducted by the terrorist group in 2014, was rescued along with her three children during Operation Desert Sanity III in the Ngoshe area of Gwoza Local Government Area in Borno State.
It’s noteworthy that Lydia was pregnant at the time of her rescue and hails from Pemi Town in Chibok.
Simultaneously, in the North Central region, Nigerian Army troops engaged in counter-terrorism and counter-insurgency operations successfully ambushed and neutralized three terrorists who were planning to carry out attacks.
Acting on actionable intelligence, the troops intercepted the armed militants in Tse Kpese Community, Zaki Biam Local Government Area of Benue State.
Following a fierce gun battle, the soldiers managed to neutralize the three terrorists and seize three AK-47 rifles along with four magazines from them.
These operations reflect the unwavering commitment of the Nigerian Army to safeguarding the safety and security of citizens and the nation as a whole.
The military remains resolute in its determination to decisively confront terrorist activities across the region.
