Troops of the Joint Task Force North East, Operation Operation HADIN KAI, have recorded another operational breakthrough in the fight against terrorism and violent crime in Nigeria’s North East.
In a precision intelligence-led operation in Magumeri, Borno State, the troops arrested five suspected members of a kidnapping syndicate accused of terrorising civilians along a known criminal corridor.
According to a statement, security forces also recovered two AK-47 rifles, magazines, and ammunition during the raid, effectively disrupting the group’s operational capability and cutting off access to weapons used for attacks and abductions.
Preliminary findings suggest the suspects are linked to multiple kidnapping incidents and other criminal activities across parts of Borno State. They are currently in custody and assisting ongoing investigations aimed at tracking down additional members of the network and dismantling their support structures.
The Nigerian Army, operating under the Nigerian Army, described the operation as part of sustained efforts to dominate the battlefield, protect civilians, and maintain pressure on terrorist and criminal elements in the region.
Military authorities reaffirmed their commitment to restoring lasting peace and stability across the North East and the wider country.
