Tinubu’s Reforms Delivering Tangible Results Nationwide — Onanuga Fires Back at Obi

The Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, has defended the impact of the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda, dismissing criticism by the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and insisting that the administration’s policies are delivering measurable benefits across the country.

In a post shared on his X (formerly Twitter) handle, Onanuga said Obi’s criticism of the Tinubu administration did not reflect realities on the ground, arguing that the achievements of the Renewed Hope Agenda were evident in communities across Nigeria.

Reacting to what he described as Obi’s “outburst” over the administration’s performance, Onanuga said the former Anambra State governor should move beyond what he called “the high of his rabid movement” and acknowledge the transformation taking place under President Tinubu’s leadership.

According to him, the administration’s developmental footprint extends to villages, towns, cities and local government areas across the country’s six geopolitical zones.

“The unmistakable trail of Renewed Hope shimmers across all villages, towns, cities and local government areas in all six geopolitical zones,” Onanuga wrote.

He disclosed that the Presidential Communications Team had been conducting nationwide tours to independently assess the implementation of government programmes, engage with citizens and obtain direct feedback on the administration’s policies.

“The Presidential Communications Team has been touring all zones to see things for themselves, feel the pulse of Nigerians and channel feedback to the government,” he said.

Onanuga further maintained that the administration had extensively documented its achievements, particularly in the areas of economic reforms and social intervention programmes.

He said government records contained evidence of Nigeria’s economic recovery, highlighting several initiatives and projects that, according to him, were positively impacting citizens.

“If Obi cares, there’s a digital binder full of reports on Nigeria’s economic turnaround under the current administration, including many transformative projects, policies and programmes, such as NELFUND, that are impacting Nigerians at the grassroots level,” he added.

The presidential aide’s remarks come amid renewed exchanges between supporters of the ruling All Progressives Congress and opposition figures over the performance of President Tinubu’s administration, particularly on the economy and the implementation of the Renewed Hope Agenda.

The comments also underscore the administration’s continued efforts to defend its economic reforms and flagship initiatives, including the Nigerian Education Loan Fund, which the government says is expanding access to higher education financing for eligible students across the country.
