Tinubu Lands in Kenya for Strategic Africa-France Summit

—

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu arrived in Nairobi, Kenya, early Monday for the highly anticipated Africa Forward Summit, where African leaders are expected to chart new pathways for economic growth, trade expansion, and regional cooperation.

In a statement made available to The News Chronicle, presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga said Tinubu’s aircraft landed at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport at about 12:18 a.m. local time and was received by Kenya’s Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, Musalia Mudavadi, alongside Kenya’s High Commissioner to Nigeria, senior government officials, and members of Nigeria’s diplomatic mission.

The summit, co-hosted by Kenyan President William Ruto and French President Emmanuel Macron, is expected to bring together Heads of State, policymakers, investors, and development partners to discuss Africa’s economic transformation, digital innovation, infrastructure development, climate resilience, and trade expansion.

Tinubu’s participation underscores Nigeria’s push to strengthen African unity, deepen regional economic ties, and forge strategic partnerships aimed at accelerating sustainable development across the continent.

During the summit, the Nigerian leader is expected to hold high-level bilateral and multilateral meetings to bolster diplomatic and economic relations with fellow African nations while reaffirming Nigeria’s influence in shaping the continent’s future.

The President’s delegation includes Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bianca Ojukwu; Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Abubakar Kyari; Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola; Minister of Environment, Balarabe Abbas Lawal; Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Jumoke Oduwole; and Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Bosun Tijani.

Also on the trip are Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye, Director-General of the National Council on Climate Change, Omotenioye Majekodunmi, and Nigeria’s Ambassador to France, Ayodele Oke.
