Theatre Command OPHK promotes 8 officers to the rank of Brigadier General and Superintendents 

Recently, a commendable development took place within the Northeast Operation Hadin Kai of the Nigerian Army, where eight dedicated officers, actively involved in the ongoing efforts against insurgency, were granted well-deserved promotions.

In recognition of their exemplary service and commitment to the cause, these soldiers were not only elevated in rank but also accorded the honor that accompanies their newly bestowed positions.

This significant event serves as a testament to the continuous dedication and sacrifices made by the officers within the Northeast Operation Hadin Kai, contributing significantly to the collective efforts to combat insurgency in the region.

These officers include Brigadier General Mohammed Abdullahi, Brigadier General Murtala Mohammed, Brigadier General Essen Akpan, Brigadier General Ayokunle Awolabi, and Brigadier General Mohammed Kana, all transitioning from the rank of Colonel to Brigadier General.

Additionally, Superintendent Abubakar Toro of the Nigerian Immigration, Superintendent Yusuf Abdullahi of the Nigerian Correctional Service, and Superintendent Adam Goni of the NSCDC were also promoted from Deputy Superintendent to Superintendent.

The investiture ceremony took place at the Officers Mess of the Mainalari cantonment in Maiduguri, with Major General Gold Chibuisi, the Theatre Commander of Northeast Operation Hadin Kai, addressing the newly promoted officers.

Major General Chibuisi emphasized the importance of humility, empathy, and patience as they take on their new roles as generals.

He advised them to remain humble to their subordinates for accessibility, demonstrate empathy by showing concern to those they lead, and exercise patience in decision-making.

Major General Chibuisi congratulated the officers, urging them to consider themselves as problem solvers and to contribute actively to addressing the challenges facing the Nigerian Army.

Brigadier General Ayokunle Awolabi, speaking on behalf of the promoted officers, expressed gratitude to the Chief of Army Staff for deeming them worthy of elevation.

He also extended thanks to Major General Gold Chibuisi, the General Officer Commanding 7 Division, Major General Peter Mallah, and other senior officers for their guidance and mentorship.

Brigadier General Awolabi assured them of the officers’ commitment to giving their best in serving the country.
