Suspected Herdsmen Abduct Two, Kill One In Nasarawa

—

A woman simply identified as Momi, has been killed by unknown gunmen suspected to be herdsmen in Chessu, Wamba local government area of Nasarawa state.

It was gathered that the armed assailants stormed the community on Tuesday 26 March and whisked away with the deceased and her little daughter to an unknown destination.

Reports say the adductors who demanded for the sum of fifty million naira ransom from the father-in-law of the kidnapped victim, killed the woman and freed the little daughter to return home and report the incident.

It was learnt that the father-in-law who reportedly proposed to offer the sum of five thousand naira, failed to meet the fifty million naira deadline within a given period.

Meanwhile, sources revealed that a day before the incident, the deceased father-in-law had a fisticuffs with a herder who reportedly invaded his farm and had to pay the sum of eighty thousand naira to compensate for damages done to the farmland.

It was gathered that one suspect has been apprehended in connection with the incident as the Nigerian police in the area has since swung into actions.
