The Israeli military on Tuesday said Israeli settlers rioted overnight in the occupied West Bank village of Jalud, setting fire to Palestinian homes, vehicles and other property.
The military said more than 100 settlers also prevented a Palestinian family displaced by earlier settler violence from returning to its home.
According to a military statement, the violence erupted as Israeli security forces attempted to facilitate the return of the Tubasi family to its home.
A social media notice circulated ahead of the operation, calling on settlers to gather in Jalud and oppose the family’s return.
The military said the settlers blocked roads, set tyres on fire and threw rocks at security forces, lightly injuring three border police officers.
The Tubasi family’s home, along with other structures, vehicles and property, was also set ablaze, the military said.
Two Israeli suspects were arrested in connection with the incident.
The Tubasi family had left its home in July following repeated harassment and violence by settlers.
Israel’s High Court had ordered the military and police to facilitate the family’s safe return and provide protection. However, the military said the latest violence prevented the operation from being completed.

Settler violence against Palestinians has intensified across the occupied West Bank, with the United Nations recording more than 1,380 settler-related incidents in the first seven months of 2026.
UN monitors have also documented incidents in which Israeli forces allegedly accompanied settlers, participated in the violence or failed to intervene.
