Osun State-based club, Sunshine Stars has updated the public on the death of their assistant kits manager Taiwo Dosunmu, who died after suffering bullet wounds during the December 7, 2023, armed robbery attack on the team bus.
Recall that the News Chronicle on the eventful day posted an article about the unfortunate development. It was gathered that the team bus conveying players, coaches, ball boys, and others was ambushed by gunmen at the Benin Ore road while they were traveling to Edo state to honor their NFL away game against Bendel Insurance.
Sunshine Star Football Club on their X page wrote:
“Gone too soon!
With a lot of pain in our hearts, we announce the untimely transition to eternity of our dear brother and Assistant Kit Manager, Taiwo Dosunmu, who died in the line of duty by the bullets of an armed bandit along the Benin-Ore expressway on Thursday, December 7, 2023.”
His selflessness at the moment of the attack saved the lives of players and other members of Sunshine Stars management.
He will be sorely missed.
