At least 13 people have been confirmed dead and 16 injured after an eastern South African church partially collapsed at the start of an Easter Service.
The incident happened at a Pentecostal church in Dlangubo, in the coastal province of Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa on Friday. 6 people were seriously injured.
According to local reports, there had been a storm with heavy winds in the area which may have contributed to the collapse of the church building. It was also gathered that some people were sleeping when the brick wall fell.
Provincial Disaster Management Centre Officials are expected to accompany Cooporative Governance and Traditional Affairs MEC Nomusa Dube- Ncube to the site to plan possible support for the bereaved families.
