Soludo Reshuffles Cabinet, Appoints Ex-Budget Commissioner as Anambra’s First Female SSG

The Anambra State governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has appointed the immediate past Commissioner for Economic Planning and Budget in the state, Mrs Chiamaka Nnake, as the Secretary to the State Government.

Nnake, aged 39, hails from Nawfia in the Njikoka Local Government Area of the state and is a seasoned finance and public-sector professional with over 13 years of experience spanning finance, strategy development, and economic planning.

Her appointment comes alongside other key announcements in a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Christian Aburime, on Monday.

This comes as Soludo begins a new four-year term, having been sworn in as Governor of Anambra State for a second term on the 17th of March, 2026.

Other appointments announced in the statement included principal secretaries, heads of agencies, and special advisers.

The appointees include the Head of Service, Mrs Ngozi Iwouno; Principal Secretary to the Governor, Joachim Anetoh; Chief of Staff to the Governor, Dr Ben Nwankwo; State Chief of Protocol, Prof. Frank-Collins Okafor.

Others are the Attorney-General of the State, Tobechukwu Nweke, SAN; the Chief Press Secretary, Christian Aburime; the Deputy Chief of Staff, Dr Vincent Okechi; and the Deputy State Chief of Protocol, Ms Ngozi Okoye.

Others are Special Adviser, Medicals and Pharmaceuticals, Dr Godwin Nnadozie; Special Adviser, Innovation and Business Incubation & CEO, Solution Innovation District, Ms Chinwe Okoli; Special Adviser, Special Projects and Director, Project Evaluation and Monitoring, Prof. Ebuka Nwankwo; and Special Adviser, Community Security, Ken Emeakayi.

Recall that Governor Soludo, in his second term inaugural speech, had promised that in the next four years, his government would change to Gear 4.0 to consolidate the ongoing transformations across all sectors, accelerate actions to secure the spaces and pillars for the prosperity of generations yet unborn, and institutionalize change within a “built to last” framework.

“We move with urgency, running at the speed of 1,000 km per hour in multiple directions simultaneously. Security and electricity will remain priorities. Anambra’s land mass is rapidly being developed in a haphazard and chaotic manner, making a physical masterplan an emergency,” the governor had said.
