Disney Studios at its D23 fan event on Friday in Anaheim, California, revealed the Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot as the villainous queen.
“Magic mirror on the wall, who’s the fairest one of all?” Gadot says in the first teaser for the live-action remake of Snow White.
“It was a lot of fun to get to do something completely different than anything I’ve ever done before,” Gadot said on stage at D23.
Speaking on her evil character in the film, the star remarked, “She’s delicious, she’s evil, she’s magical, I got to sing all these different songs — it was incredible.”
The revelation of Gal Gadot as the villianous monarch came with shock for a lot of fans with many posting on X along her photo, “you will never be her.”
The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes actress Rachel Zegler was also shown to be playing the titular princess, Snow White.
Zegler expressed joy over playing the role of Disney’s first princess: “It’s just been the honor of a lifetime,” she said.
“Any young person, any little girl, you get to put on a Disney princess dress and be her for a day, let alone six months in London on these incredible sets in a Sandy Powell-designed dress — it’s just been the most amazing experience, and I can’t wait to share it with you all.”
