Six soldiers sustained injuries in a road traffic accident involving troops of the 8 Division Garrison in Goronyo Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
The incident occurred over the weekend in Goronyo Community as troops attached to the Forward Operating Base (FOB) Isa were returning from an administrative patrol.
According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, who cited intelligence sources in a post on X on Tuesday, the accident involved a military gun truck, which sustained minor damage in the crash.
The injured soldiers were immediately evacuated to Goronyo General Hospital, where they received initial treatment and were stabilised before being transferred to the 8 Division Military Hospital for further medical attention.
Sources said all six soldiers are in stable condition, while military authorities have commenced an assessment to determine the circumstances surrounding the accident.
