Destiny Etiko Appeals for Help as Cynthia Anijekwu Battles Cancer

Nollywood actress Destiny Etiko has asked the public for financial support on behalf of her colleague, actress Cynthia Anijekwu, who is fighting cancer for the second time.

Destiny Etiko shared a video on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, in which Cynthia described her illness and appealed directly to Nigerians for assistance.

Sharing the clip, Etiko wrote that her colleague’s condition is now very critical and urged followers to help in whatever way they could, however small.

In the video, Anijekwu explained that she was first diagnosed with cancer in 2023. She underwent surgery followed by chemotherapy at the time, but the disease later returned.

Recent medical tests showed that the cancer has spread to her bones, and doctors have recommended radiation therapy along with another surgery. She said the cancer has also affected both breasts and caused swelling in her hands.

She said her treatment now costs about N600,000 a month, an expense her family can no longer manage on its own.

“I need to live. I need to survive,” she said in the video, appealing directly for public support.

Cynthia Anijekwu has worked in Nollywood, appearing in English- and Igbo-language productions.

Alongside the health appeal, two other clips involving Destiny Etiko have circulated recently. A Ghanaian seer known as Karma President had earlier warned the actress against undergoing further body-enhancement surgery, claiming she might not survive another procedure.

Fans responded to the appeal for Cynthia Anijekwu with messages of support and prayers.
