Vice President Kashim Shettima has departed Abuja for Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, to lead a government-to-government peer exchange to accelerate nutrition delivery in Nigeria.
The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Communications, Mr Stanley Nkwocha, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday.
Nkwocha said Shettima was visiting Ethiopia at the invitation of the country’s Deputy Prime Minister, Temesgen Tiruneh, who is championing a multisectoral approach to improving nutrition.

According to him, the vice president will participate in the inaugural Nigeria-Ethiopia Nutrition Leadership Exchange Visit, designed to facilitate the sharing of experiences on developing a federal, state and local government compact on nutrition.
He said the Nigerian delegation would also exchange ideas with Ethiopian officials on how government-led initiatives could strengthen the delivery of nutrition.
As part of the visit, the delegation is expected to tour key facilities and initiatives supporting nutrition and food security across Ethiopia.
Nkwocha listed the locations to be visited as a wheat farm and banana plantation in Oromia; the Bounty of the Basket Training Center and selected households in Mojo; and Jabdu Motors in Bishoftu.
