Seun Kuti Criticizes Monogamy, Advocates for Polygamy

Nigerian musician Seun Kuti has criticized monogamy, saying it “doesn’t work.”

The Afrobeat artist encouraged men to practice polygamy, believing that every man should have multiple women.

On the ‘Bahd & Boujee’ podcast, Seun said having multiple women shows power and wealth.

He stated, “Monogamy doesn’t work. Powerful men need the support of many powerful women. These women are in your life because the ancestors want them there. You share your life with them.”

He mentioned that his late father, Afrobeat pioneer Fela Anikulapo Kuti, had over 100 concubines despite marrying 27 women at once.

Seun Kuti is publicly known to be married to one woman, Yetunde Kuti.
