Senator Shehu Sani Calls for Uncompromising Action Against Bandits

—

In a scathing critique of current security tactics, former Nigerian Senator Shehu Sani has condemned the government’s appeasement approach towards armed bandits, following the recent successful aerial bombardment of a bandits’ camp in Katsina state by the Armed Forces.

Senator Sani, known for his outspoken stance on national security issues, took to social media platform X to express his views. He hailed the military’s recent operation as commendable, emphasizing that eliminating terrorists is the only viable solution. He sharply criticized what he termed as a misguided policy of leniency, stating that allowing armed bandits on motorcycles to roam freely until they attack has only served to empower these ruthless criminals.

“The recent success recorded by the Armed Forces over the aerial bombardment of Bandits Camp in Katsina state is commendable. Eliminating the terrorist is the way out. The appeasing strategy of ‘allowing convoy of armed bandits on motorcycles to pass if they have not attacked anyone’ has only emboldened the murderous criminals,” Senator Sani posted.

The senator’s remarks come amid growing public concern over the escalating violence perpetrated by bandits across various regions in Nigeria. He called on the government to abandon its lenient approach and adopt a tougher stance against these criminal elements, urging for decisive actions to ensure the safety and security of citizens.
