The Nigerian Senate will on Wednesday screen President Bola Tinubu’s nominee for Minister of Defence, General Christopher Gwabin Musa, during its plenary session.
According to a statement from the Senate Majority Leader, Opeyemi Bamidele, the Senate has received the President’s request seeking confirmation of the nominee.
The statement noted that the letter will be formally read on the Senate floor on Wednesday, after which the screening exercise will begin immediately.
Bamidele explained that the Senate will not delay the confirmation process, especially at a time when national security is a major concern.
