Senate President Akpabio Advises Davido to Steer Clear of Politics

Senate President Godswill Akpabio has advised Afrobeat singer Davido to avoid getting involved in politics. Akpabio shared this advice on Monday 20th May in Abuja during Davido’s courtesy visit.

Welcoming Davido, Akpabio praised the musician for making Nigeria proud and emphasized the inclusive nature of President Bola Tinubu’s administration, which works across party lines for the country’s good.

“Even though your administration is a PDP, what unites us is the interest of our country. Nigeria, with over 240 million people, has shown you much love. I urge you to remain a great ambassador for our country and continue excelling in the entertainment industry. Don’t let anyone drag you into politics,” Akpabio advised.

He added that the political arena values talent and promised support for the entertainment industry and talented individuals like Davido, urging patience and prayers for success.

In response, Davido shared the purpose of his visit, highlighting his efforts to help society through his foundation, which donates N300 to N400 million to orphanages annually. He also mentioned his upcoming album, set to release in June or July. Davido was accompanied by his cousins Tunji Adeleke and Folasade Adeleke.
