Schools to reopen for transition classes 3rd August, 2020- FG

—

The Federal Ministry of Education has directed the reopening of schools for students in exit classes from August 03, 2020.

This was contained in a statement issued on Monday by the Ministry’s Director Press and Public Relations, Ben Goong.

According to the statement, the decision was taken after a virtual consultative meeting between the Federal Ministry of Education, Commissioners of Education of the 36 states, the Nigerian Union of Teachers, the proprietors of private schools, and Chief Executives of examination bodies.

According to the statement, it was also resolved that a passionate appeal be made to the Federal Government, corporate organizations and well-meaning Nigerians for assistance to schools across the country to enable them fast track the preparations of safe reopening.

The statement also added that another meeting is to be convened tomorrow between the Federal Ministry of Education and Chief Executives of examination bodies such as NECO, NABTEB and NBAIS to harmonize their examination dates.
