Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has triggered a new wave of speculation after being spotted in London meeting former Reds captain Jordan Henderson.
The Egyptian star, who is preparing for the Africa Cup of Nations, has been at the centre of controversy following a public outburst over his reduced role under manager Arne Slot.
The News Chronicle gathered that Salah’s visit to London came shortly after tensions escalated at Anfield. The forward, who has scored 250 goals in 420 matches for Liverpool, criticised the club for what he described as an attempt to make him a scapegoat.
He questioned why he had been left out of recent games, including the dramatic 3–3 draw with Leeds, saying he no longer understood the breakdown in his relationship with Slot.
His comments resulted in him being omitted from Liverpool’s squad for their Champions League trip to Inter Milan, further fuelling reports that he may be nearing the end of his stay.
During the London meeting, captured by The Sun, Salah and Henderson reportedly held a lengthy private discussion. Henderson, now at Brentford after a stint in Saudi Arabia, is believed to have shared insights about life in the Saudi Pro League.
Their conversation has revived talk of a potential move to the Middle East, where Salah has long-standing admirers. Clubs such as Al-Hilal, Al-Qadsiah and Neom are said to be monitoring his situation.
Saudi Pro League officials have also publicly expressed interest, although they insist any negotiations must come from the clubs.
Liverpool maintains that the issues with Slot can be resolved and are not considering a January sale.
However, observers believe Saudi clubs are watching closely, convinced that the Reds may be trying to protect Salah’s transfer value as discussions intensify heading into the winter window.
