Retired Brigadier General Uwem Udokwere tragically lost his life in a suspected armed robbery attack in Abuja on Saturday morning.
The incident was confirmed by Josephine Adeh, spokesperson for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) police command, in a statement released Saturday night.
Following the unfortunate event, FCT Commissioner of Police, Benneth Igweh, has promptly ordered an immediate investigation.
Adeh’s statement expressed condolences to the bereaved family and assured swift justice, with efforts underway to ensure the perpetrators are apprehended and brought to book.
Igweh reiterated the commitment of the police command to enhance security in the nation’s capital, promising to adapt strategies to combat evolving criminal activities.
