Member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Yusuf Gagdi PhD, OON, has dismissed reports alleging that he divorced his wife, Dr. Laylah, describing the claims as false.
In a statement and video shared on his social media pages, Gagdi said he remains married to Dr. Laylah and that their relationship has grown stronger.
“The truth is, it is only now that I have truly begun to appreciate and love her even more,” he said.
The lawmaker said he was posting the video to address those “who spend their time wishing for the end of our marriage.”
“By the grace of Allah, our home remains strong, and no amount of falsehood or ill wishes will change that. We don’t have a sad moment with Laylah… know this and know peace,” he stated.
Gagdi prayed for the continued strength of his marriage and for peace in every home, adding: “I Love You Laylah, more than you can imagine….”
The clarification comes amid social media speculation about the state of the couple’s marriage.
