Rapper Kodak Black detained for possessing cocaine

American rapper Bill Kapri, better known by his stage name Kodak Black, was arrested for possessing cocaine, tampering with evidence, and breaking the terms of his probation. The 26-year-old was taken into custody in South Florida on Thursday.

The rapper was discovered dozing off in a Bentley in Plantation at around three in the morning, according to a police statement.

According to an arrest document from the Plantation Police Department, officers saw Kapri’s Bentley SUV parked in the street and went to speak with him. When they arrived, the driver’s seat was empty.

According to the arrest report, an officer discovered “cannabis wrapping paper and suspect cannabis residue” on the console when they unlocked the door to turn off the car. They also saw a cup in the door that smelled like alcohol.

Officers reported witnessing Black drop a white substance when he got out of the SUV. The policeman stated that they “thought Kapri was attempting to get rid of illegal drugs.” The arrest report stated that Black’s mouth was “full of white powder.”

The arresting officer noted, “I saw white, rock-like substances on the ground and put Kapri in handcuffs.” “Kapri stated it was ‘Percocet.'”

During their investigation of Kapri, the officers discovered indications of a “white, chunky substance” in a little plastic bag. The arrest report states that the suspected cocaine weighed slightly over four grams when combined with the material found on the ground.

Kodak Black was detained at the Broward County jail; however, according to NBC Miami, he was freed on bond on Thursday evening.

Recall that on his final days of office in January 2021, former US President Donald Trump reduced Black’s 46-month jail term for fabricating information on federal documents in order to purchase firearms.

The rapper previously served seven months in a Florida prison for possession of marijuana, grand theft of a firearm, child negligence, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. In the past, he was also accused of armed robbery, sexual assault, violating his probation, and running from the police with firearms.
