Ramadan: Four die in Bauchi Zakat Stampede

Four people have lost their lives in a stampede during an almsgiving zakat for the poor in Bauchi State 

The stampede happened at the Shafa Holdings Company plc headquarters along Jos Road, on Sunday.

A 17-year-old identified as Naima Abdullahi, is currently receiving medical treatment at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital in Bauchi.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Ahmed Wakili, who confirmed the incident said the situation has been stabilized.

Recall that on Friday, two students of the Nasarawa State University, Keffi have died during the distribution of palliatives while 23 have been hospitalised.

Wakili said the police acted swiftly upon hearing the news, adding that the police commissioner encouraged the public to stay composed.
