Former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Prof. Isah Pantami, has joined the global community in celebrating World Teachers’ Day, paying glowing tribute to educators whom he described as the true builders of the future and “heirs of the Prophets.”
In a goodwill message released to mark the occasion, Pantami reflected on his own early educational journey, paying homage to his late parents, his first teachers and the mentors who guided him through life.
Highlighting this year’s global theme, “Standing with teachers: 60 years of protecting the profession, advancing its status and shaping our futures,” the former minister noted that the observance marks six decades since the landmark 1966 ILO/UNESCO Recommendation concerning the Status of Teachers.
Pantami commended educators across the nation for their continued dedication, patience, and sacrifice in nurturing minds and instilling strong moral character. He emphasized that teaching transcends a mere profession, describing it as a legacy of prophethood that deserves utmost respect, value, and institutional support.
Pantami offered prayers of blessings and strength for teachers nationwide, reaffirming the nation’s profound pride in their tireless contributions to societal development.
