President Bola Tinubu has emphasized his government’s dedication to putting an end to terrorism, kidnapping, banditry, and other criminal activities across the country.

Speaking at the 7th and 8th combined convocation of the Federal University Dutsin-Ma (FUDMA) in Katsina State on Saturday, Tinubu, represented by Prof. Abdulkarim Mohammed, Vice Chancellor of Federal University Dutse (FUD), expressed deep concern about the security situation in the country.

He reiterated his administration’s full commitment to combating terrorism, kidnapping, banditry, and other criminal activities, particularly in the northern part of the country.

Tinubu stressed the importance of collective effort in achieving this goal and appealed to all Nigerians to support the government by providing useful information about suspicious individuals and miscreants.

“Security is a collective responsibility. I, therefore, appeal to all Nigerians to join hands with the government by giving useful information to security agents on suspicious persons and miscreants.”

Let us keep the hope alive and be optimistic; by the grace of God, we shall overcome these challenges,” he said.

Addressing the issue of unemployment, especially among graduates, Tinubu encouraged them to take advantage of the skills acquisition training provided by the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and the Federal Government’s digital innovation programs.

These initiatives are designed to train two million youths and empower Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises.

He urged the graduating students to apply the knowledge, skills, and character they acquired for the betterment of humanity.

Tinubu expressed his anticipation of exploring the opportunities outlined in the ‘Renewed Hope Agenda’ of his administration, aimed at positioning Nigeria as a leading nation in Africa.

The President also challenged universities in the country to contribute to sustainable development through research and innovations. He emphasized the importance of fast-tracking progress in the nation.

The Chancellor of the university, King Dandeson Douglas-Jaja, shared that FUDMA, which began academic activities in 2012 with three faculties and 218 students, has now expanded to include a postgraduate school, 15 faculties, and over 20,000 students.

He highlighted the university’s challenges, particularly in terms of security, and called on all stakeholders to assist in addressing these issues.

He charged the graduating students to be exemplary ambassadors of the university in all their endeavors.
